Receipts do not have to be sent for the following information but should be kept on file:


    * Child care expenses
    * Receipts for items claimed as home expenses such as mortgage interest, property taxes, light and heat

    * Details on the purchase price and proceeds on any investments sold in the year

The following information is required if you are claiming employment expenses:


    * T2200 from your employer, including business mileage and personal mileage if claiming vehicle expenses
    * Totals for each expense which you are claiming such as gas, travel, office advertising etc.
    * Meals and entertainment amounts

Deadlines


    * Taxpayers reporting business income on their personal return have until June 15 to file the return, however interest on any unpaid taxes will be charged starting on May 1

    * Unless you are very sure that you do not owe taxes the return should be prepared by April 30, it can be filed at a later date , but the taxes should be calculated and paid if possible by April 30, 2004
